David Barchard, veteran Turkey analyst and author lecture onThe Referendum: a preliminary evaluation’.

Turkey is entering a new era as it makes a transition from a parliamentary system of government to a presidential one. David Barchard looks at the growth of the idea of a presidential system in Turkey, some of its main features, and the referendum campaign before 16 April and some of the subsequent developments.
