Statement of interest: Juan Javier Rivera Andía’s research is grounded in ethnography and anthropology. His interests focus on the study of indigenous relationships with cattle and land, particularly in regard to Andean pastoralism and cattle management. He has worked in different research centres in Europe, United States and Latin America. Long-term fieldwork in the Andes of northern and central Peru have enabled him to study also the role of buildings and native architeture in the relationships with the environment among Quechua-speaking people of Peru.
