Conference Programme

‘photography + (con) text’ is pleased to invite you to our conference on ‘Photography in Academic Research’ hosted by UCL Heritage Studies, Institute of Archaeology, in collaboration with RAI (Royal Anthropological Institute) and Birkbeck, Department of Politics.  There are more than 70 delegates from 27 countries.  We will have 20 panels on a wide range of themes related to photography in academic research, such as photography as an artistic practice, photography and science, archive and memory, journalism, education, and politics. We hope that the conference will generate rigorous, challenging and stimulating debates about photography in academic research.  It is a pleasure for us to invite participants from a wide range of academic disciplines and practices and to be able to facilitate a dialogue between theory and practice, art and science, politics and journalism.  Please find the conference programme including venues enclosed.
