Part of our The Lives of Others Season, bringing you tales from the four corners of the earth.

Welcome to Stara Zburyevka, where local sheriffs Viktor and Volodya are trying to keep the peace. In their sleepy backwater village in Southern Ukraine, stolen ducks and drunken neighbours take priority, despite the threat of rising tensions with neighbouring Russia.

This film is a tragicomic but insightful portrayal of a small town at a turning point in Ukraine’s history.
